When I was made redundant in the late 1990’s and “fell” into Financial Services, I imagined I would have to be a good salesman, which I’m not. It’s been wonderful to discover that my clients don’t want to be “sold” anything. They just want straightforward, honest advice from someone who’s with them for the long run.
Looking after my clients
Many of my clients have worked with me for nearly two decades and know when they call me they will find someone who has an in-depth understanding of their position and is happy to research the market to find them exactly what they need. I still get a buzz when I can show someone how they don’t have to just “get by” but can feel comfortable in retirement; when I can help remove the financial worry of dying or getting ill for their families; or help people start their financial journey.
Nothing gives me greater satisfaction than understanding where they’re at and where they want to go, and then working hard to find them options that really make sense to them.
